Launched in 2010 by Laurence Chauvin-Buthaud, Laurence Airline is both a menswear label and a conscious project based between Abidjan and Paris. The designer mixes her African roots with the Parisian fashion trends for a clashing result.
Who are you?
Laurence, founder and designer of the brand LaurenceAirline.
How did you start in fashion?
I was born in Ivory Coast, I spent my childhood in Switzerland and I did my stylist studies at Studio Berçot in Paris. After my graduation, I worked at Lalala productions with Miss Agnes for Canal+ TV channel and then at Louis Vuitton in the style office. After a few years in London, I decided to settle down between Paris and the Côte d'Ivoire and to develop LaurenceAirline.
How would you define your style?
The brand's roots are anchored in African culture and fall within the spirit of sharing and exchanging to establish a contemporary menswear using creativity as a bridge between cultures.
What inspires you?
The exploration of an outside world or inner world through a journey.
A few words about this collection...
The SS14 collection is inspired by the Miami Art Deco district's colours mixes with Op Art and Sixties references. A mix between rock'n'roll and summer freshness.

My top 3 : Koro, Lohiri and Seleho.
